BEFORE THE VOTES

This book presents a research I did for a class of sociology of communication. It show the results of five months of interviews and meetings with two nuns that live in a convent of my town. The main themes of our conversations were their memories about the lay life. The book consists in two parts, one with the interview and a second part where I show some pictures: some objects and some photos of their past lay life. The two nouns bring them in the convent as special memories of important moments.

La pietra racconta – Un palazzo da leggere is a project realized in collaboration with ISIA Urbino for the National Gallery of Le Marche – Ducal Palace of Urbino. It is an exhibition dedicated to the graffiti on the walls of this famous monument: in the 90s professor Raffaella Sarti started to categorize and organize this particular cultural heritage. Recently, in 2015, Manuele Marracini chose these signs as a focus for his MA degree in photography.

Photopublishing
This photographic project tells the story of Fontespino, an old hotel now closed. It was built in the middle of the Italian province of Pesaro-Urbino, on the hills. The book develops a double set of authorial photographies and pictures realized by employees and clients of the hotel from 1975 to 2001: they represent scenes from the restaurant, the park, the reception, the green spaces around the building, or images of dancing parties. Significant memories of a big dream that lasted almost twenty years, something that became possible due to the sacrifices and the work of simple, good-hearted people; not a tribute to what has been lost, but to all the things that are, fortunately, still there.
